Borderland Pride finalizes plans to bring Pride to Emo
Pride supporters are poised to pounce on Emo with truckloads of queer cheer this Saturday, June 27. Dubbed the “Emo Ambush”, Borderland Pride organizers promise a colourful, safe, and fun family-oriented event to show support for Pride and the cause of LGBTQ2 inclusion in the area. Discrimination complaint filed over municipal refusal to recognize Pride
Borderland Pride was denied a resolution in support of Pride by the council of the Township of Emo An LGBTQ2 group has filed a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal against a northwestern Ontario municipality alleging that the town council’s refusal to adopt a resolution in support of Pride was discriminatory.
The complaint was filed against the Township of Emo by Borderland Pride, the LGBTQ2 Pride organization for the Rainy River District, where Emo is located.

It's an Emo Ambush! Borderland Pride is taking truckloads of queer cheer to a community in need of some rainbows this Pride Month. On Saturday, June 27, we are taking LGBTQ2 Pride to Emo, Ontario for the very first time in the town's 123-year history! Northwestern Ontario Prides to host townhall with federal ministers on rural 2SLGBTIQ+ issues
Thunder Pride Association and Borderland Pride will host a virtual townhall meeting on issues facing 2SLGBTIQ+ people in rural and northern communities, such as those in Northwestern Ontario. The event, to be held online, will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM ET (6:00 to 7:30 PM CT). The speakers on this virtual panel will include: Hon.
